MY POEM FOR MOM

Barbara Lynn Masters

Who was the first one to care, the very first to know?
Who held me close inside her, kept me safe and warm?
Who calmed my fears when I was scared?
Who showed me the way that I should play?
Who rocked me hours at a time and didn't get to sleep?
Who cared if I was hungry?
Who cared if I was warm?
Who made sure that I did not come to any harm?
Who brought me to church each week keeping me strong?
Who loved me all the times when I went wrong?
Who loved me through my teenage years ?
Who held my hand so tight?
Who took away all my fears?
And taught me wrong from right?
It was you my Mother Dear and may I say today
I love you more than any words can possibly say

You touched on every aspect of life between a Mom and her child, you.  Mother's Day is coming.  Are you putting it on a special made card for her?  Barbara, I love your poem, so from the heart.  Two thumbs up.  Good job.

Love,
Fay Ann

Voted 10 which is what I truly felt about this, Barb.  Very heart-felt and easy to identify with, for an adult daughter of grandchildren who can only now really see her Mother for the special influence she was.  Btw, I love poetry.com they even put a thing of mine in their last anthology, I was blissed for months!  CATHY
