Thirty Questions

I found this on Robins journal which she found on Lindas.  So I decided to do it too.

But before I do I know all of you have been praying for my family.  I can feel the prayer around me. Don't stop!

Quick up date:

Eric is looking for a new job.  Was talking about trying to find a cheaper place to live.  I suggested he move back home until he got on his feet instead of throwing every penny he makes towards his apartment.  He likes being on his own.  I completely understand, but he could live here for free.

And it isn't that we are not close because we are.  I would let him do what he wanted to, he is an adult now.  All of 23 years old and all.

Anyway please pray for him that he will seek God's will and that whichever way it works out that is will be easy for him.

Now my Mom celebrated her birthday yesterday.  She has had one chemo treatment so far.  Her hair is already falling out.  She went with Dad yesterday to look at wigs.  If anyone knows how I can get ahold of those people who call themselves Chemo Angels please email me.

She is in good spirits and a fighter.  She worrys more about those around her than she does herself.

I think the Chemo Angels make these hats you can wear to keep your head warm.  So if anyone knows about this please let me know.

We Must Stop This Immediately!

Have you noticed that stairs are getting steeper .  Groceries are heavier .  And, everything is farther  away.  Yesterday I walked to the corner and I was dumbfounded to discover how long   our street had become!
And, you know, people are less considerate now, especially the young ones.  They speak in whispers  all the time!  If you ask them to speak up they just keep repeating themselves, endlessly mouthing the same silent message until they're red in the face!  What do they think I am, a lip reader?
I also think they are much younger than I was at the same age.  On the other hand, people my own age are so much older  than I am.  I ran into an old friend the other day and she has aged so much that she didn't even recognize me.
I got to thinking about the poor dear while I was combing my hair this morning, and in doing so, I glanced at my own reflection .. . well, REALLY NOW - even mirrors are not made the way they used to be!
Another thing, everyone drives so fast these days!  You're risking life and limb if you happen to pull onto the freeway in front of them.  All I can say is, their brakes must wear out awfully fast, the way I see them screech and swerve in my rear view mirror.
Clothing manufacturers are less civilized these days.  Why else would they suddenly start labeling a size 10 or 12 dress as 18 or 20?  Do they think no one notices? The people who make bathroom scales are pulling the same prank.  Do they think I actually "believe" the number I see on that dial?  HA!  I would never let myself weigh that much!  Just who do these people think they're fooling?
I'd like to call up someone in authority to report what's going on -- but the telephone company is in on the conspiracy too: they've printed the phone books in such small type that no one could ever find a number in there!

All I can do is pass along this warning:

Unless something drastic happens, pretty soon everyone will have to suffer these awful indignities.

PS: I am sending this to you in a larger font size, because something has happened to my computer's fonts - they are smaller than they once were.

Happy Fathers Day!

My Dad teaching Eric about God

My Dad has many friends

You Raise Me Up dedicated to my Dad

Here is the poem I wrote for him.

                     Happy Fathers Day Daddy

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

On this special Fathers Day Id like to say to you.

I remember all the fun times, they were never few

The mornings when we got up early, went to play some golf.

The early mornings of breakfast, sausage and biscuits you bought.

Asking you on Sundays what we were going to do that day.

You said we were going to relax, on the special day God made.

I remember playing the piano for you, at your special church.

How you showed me kindness by all the lives you touched.

Not a holiday went by that you did not make so special.

You even made up a few, just to make us feel your love.

Like the first day of school, when you told me I would be just fine.

And visiting my apartment, even though you knew I was alright.

Some things you did, because you love me so.

I would just like to tell you, of this I really know.

You showed me that to be a good person I should always be true.

Your love showed me the way to go in all I say and do.

I know sometimes I do not do all the things you taught me.

But never once have you said to me you did not do this well.

You let me make my own mistakes and learn a thing or two.

But you were always there to pick me up and to see things through.

So on this special day, Id like to say to you

I love you my sweet Daddy and all that you say and do.

Just remember all the fun times, the special days we shared

And know that my special love for you will always be right here.

Thank you for being the father of my dreams

I would just like to say Happy Fathers Day to all you guys in Jland!

Happy Birthday Rick

Today is Ricks birthday!  It is also flag day.  When he was a little boy he used to think people put out all the flags for his birthday . Isn't that the cutest?

Here is my poem for him today:

Happy Birthday Rick

And know how much I care

People stop and wonder

People stop and stare

You have made my life complete.

Because you love me so

I know you will always be there

Regardless of where I go

Time has shown me that you care

Happiness you bring

Do you know that I love you so

And always will be true\

You are the reason for my love

Realize that this is real

I love you just as much

Can you see that in my eyes?

Kindness is all I have to give, and you get it all/

I know it doesn't ryhme

I am blonde...remember?

I know it has been awhile and to all my friends here I would just like to say thanks for your prayers and patience.

I have not written in a while because I was going through some hard times.

I like to keep my journal upbeat.

I will now explain some of what has happened.

Let's get the bad news over with first and then I will try to look on the bright side.

I guess I should start with the news I recieved from my Mom.  As you all know, my mom and I are very close.

She has always been there for me.

She found out a couple of weeks ago that she has liver cancer.  I could not write of this sooner because all of the family didn't know yet.

She is going through chemo now and is having a hard time with it, but as always is a rock.

Her strength amazes me.  I ask for your prayers for her.

Her name is Shirley

The second thing that happened was that my son was let go of his job at his restaurant.  The place where he was working expanded and built a new club house.  It was then decided that there were too many chefs, so two got cut and Eric was one of them.

He is now working at a restaurant closer to his apartment.  He is working the night shift 11:00pm to 7 am.  Then on the days he is off there he is working at another restaurant.

Tomorrow is going to be a long one for him.  He is working job A from 11-7 and then the restaurant B from 2 in the afternoon to close...whatever that is.

Please keep him in your prayers too.

I lost one of my contacts down the drain and still have not been able to get my back tooth which broke fixed.

I was waiting on my insurance at work, but something happened there too and I will not be ableto get the insurance until 2008.

So I am dealing with all of this and trying to keep my spirits up.

I know that you are all here for me, I do appreciate that.

I am sorry that I have not been to many journals lately.

I will have to catch up somehow.....

Please keep my family in your prayers and I will be back to this as soon as I can.
