Time To Make The Donuts

Baby Bear goes downstairs and sits in his small chair at the table. He
looks into his small bowl. It is empty.

"Who's been eating my porridge?!!" he squeaks.

Papa Bear arrives at the table and sits in his big chair. He looks into
his big bowl, and it is also empty.

"Who's been eating my Porridge?!!" he roars.

Momma Bear puts her head through the serving hatch from the kitchen and
yells,

"How many times do we have to go through this with you idiots? It was
Momma Bear who got up first, it was Momma Bear who woke everyone in the house,
it was Momma Bear who made the coffee, it was Momma Bear who unloaded the
dishwasher from last night, and put everything away, it was Momma Bear
who went out in the cold early morning air to fetch the newspaper, it was
Momma Bear who set the table, it was Momma Bear who put the cat
out, cleaned the litter box, and filled the cat's water and food dish, and,
now that you've decided to drag your sorry bear-butts downstairs, and grace
Momma Bear's kitchen with your grumpy presence, listen good, 'cause I'm only
going to say this one more time:

'I HAVEN'T MADE THE PORRIDGE YET!!'"

Kids In Church

KIDS IN CHURCH
3-year-old Reese:

"Our Father, Who does art in heaven, Harold is His name. Amen."

A little boy was overheard praying:

"Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like I am."

After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car.

His father asked him three times what was wrong.

Finally, the boy replied, "That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys."

I had been teaching my three-year old daughter, Caitlin, the Lord's Prayer for several evenings at bedtime.

She would repeat after me the lines from the prayer. Finally, she decided to go solo.

I listened with pride as she carefully enunciated each word, right up to the end of the prayer: "Lead us not into temptation," she prayed, "but deliver us from E-mail.

One particular four-year-old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."

A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?"

One bright little girl replied, "Because people are sleeping."

Six-year-old Angie and her four-year-old brother, Joel, were sitting together in church.

Joel giggled, sang, and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had had enough.

"You're not supposed to talk out loud in church."

"Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked.

Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, "See those two men standing by the door? They're hushers."

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons,Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.

The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. heir mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.

"If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'

Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!"

A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand.

"Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked.

"He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied.

The boy thought a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?"

A wife invited some people to dinner.

At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?"

"I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied.

"Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered.

The daughter bowed her head and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"

Still Celebrating?

It was a romantic full moon, when Pedro said, "Hey, mamacita, let's do Weeweechu."

Oh no, not now, let's look at the moon!" said Rosita.

Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I do Weeweechu. I love you and it's the perfect time," Pedro begged.

"But I wanna just hold your hand and watch the moon." replied Rosita.

"Please, corazoncito, just once, do Weeweechu with me."

Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK, one time, we'll do Weeweechu."

Pedro grabbed his guitar and they both sang.....

"Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas,
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

We had a busy and exciting Christmas. All I wanted was to be with my family. I saw alot of people asking what we wanted and my wish came true.

The secret I teased you about was that Eric got to come a day early and stay a day late. Only we didn't tell Rick...we surprised him.

I love Christmas but I have to say that I am glad it is over except for the part where Eric goes back home.  I miss him already.

I think we did pretty good in the giving and recieving departments.

I wish I had taken some pictures of the presents we gave away.  I made 4 tote bags this year, I made 5 framed portraits.  And bought the rest.  I will not even allow myself to wonder how much I spent. LOL  I really don't care.  Family is special to me.

What did I get you ask?

I got....from Eric...a relaxing cd and bath stuff

from Rick.... my ring!!!! and oven!!!!

I have been only wearing my ring sometimes because it is a little big and I don't want to lose it.

With my oven I have already made two batches of biscuits, cookies, cornbread and peach cobbler.... I also got some sweet rolls in the oven to cook...I will probably gain weight LOL o no!

from my parents I got alot of great things...soft socks, a picture of them, a nail kit,

money, my Dad painted me a picture of Villa Grove where I use to visit my Papa.  It is of the whole town.....look I will take pictures of all the stuff I got tomorrow...there is alot more .

We had so much fun with Eric here.  Eric and I spent today cooking up all kinds of cool things. I have pictures of that too....to be continued....

It is 2:17am and I have to go to work tomorrow.  I must get some beauty sleep!

I am in 10th place in the singing contest now, so if you haven't voted yet please do.  I am only 1 point behind the person in 9th place.

Have you voted Little Bear????  I didn't get my usual Hell no from you saying you wouldn't ...feeling ignored here young man!

Shhhh

I've got a secret!

Twas the Night Before Jland

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Jland <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

There were friends writing emails and journaling all through the land.

The e-mails were stacked in their boxes with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The newbies were nestled all snug by their screens,
While visions of Java danced in their dreams.
Rick on the rooftop putting up shingles and me at my computer enjoying a snack.
We just settled down.to get ready to mingle.

When out in the yard there arose such a clatter,
I jumped to the door to see what was the matter.
To a new page my computer flew like a flash,
Then made a slight gurgle. It started to crash!!

I gasped at the thought and started to grouse,
Then turned my head sideways and clicked on my mouse.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
My computer jumped to a page that wasn't quite clear.
When the image resolved, so bright and so quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick!

More rapid than mainframes, more graphics they came,
Then Nick glanced toward my screen, my computer called them by name;
'Now Linda! Now Robin!', my speaker did reel;
'On Marla! Noelle!' Santa started to squeal!
'Jump onto the circuits! And into the chip!
Now speed it up! Speed it up! Make this thing hip!
'

The screen gave a flicker, he was into my 'Ram',
Then into my room rose a full hologram!
He was dressed in all red, from his head to his shoes,
Which were black (the white socks he really should lose).

He pulled out some discs he had stored in his backpack.
Santa looked like a dude who was rarin' to hack!
His eyes, how they twinkled! His glasses, how techno!
This ain't the same Santa that I used to know!

With a wink of his eye and a nod of his head,
Santa soon let me know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, gave my screen a quick poke,
And accessed my C drive with only a stroke.

He looked at my hard drive, and added a 'program',
Then threw in some cool games, just on a whim!
He worked without noise, his fingers they flew!
He distorted some pictures with some glitter he threw

He updated Office, Excel and Quicken,
Then added a screensaver with a red clucking chicken!
My eyes widened a bit, my mouth stood agape,
As he added the latest version of Netscape.
The drive gave a whirl, as if it were pleased,
St. Nick coyly smiled, the computer appeased.

Then placing his finger on the bridge of his nose,
Santa turned into nothing but ones and zeros!
He flew back into my screen and through my uplink,
Back into the net with barely a blink.
But I heard his sweet voice as he flew from my sight,
'Happy journaling to all, and to all a good byte!'

Christmas Word Play

I have a fun, fun, fun Christmas "Wordplay" for you today! This is from Valerie. Do you remember Mad Libs when you were a kid?  Today's "Wordplay" follows this concept.  I would like you to click on this link Fill out the Mad LibPost it in your journal if you would like Come back and leave your full entry URL so we can all read it!!   I don't want to give it away so I will post mine tomorrow.  Was it fun??  Do you have any suggestions for any future "Wordplay"s?
Yes!  Let's write our own!  A jland Christmas....Anyone up for the challenge?  'Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas the second before Christmas, and all through the cabin,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a tiny dog.
The socks were hung by the kitchen table with care,
In hopes that St. John soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their desks,
While visions of sugar-pizzas danced in their eyes.
And sister in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
ran open the shutters, and cried up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave the luster of mid-ages to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But a growing cactus, and eight tiny rattle snakes.

With a little old driver, so lively and drinking,
I knew in a moment it must be St. John.
More rapid than armadillos his rattle snakes they came,
And he whistled, and laughed, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! Now, Krissy! Now, Angel and Vixen!
On, Valerie! On Lazy Cat! On, Vest and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the cowboy boot!
Now whistle away! Whistle away! Whistle away all!"

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof,
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the kitchen table St. John came with a bound.

His eyes -- how they sang! His dimples, how laughing!
His hands were like spurs, his elbow like a taco!

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work,
And filled all the socks, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his ear aside of his bottom lip,
And giving a nod, up the kitchen table he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a burp,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good second!"

Santa Surprise!!!

My wonderful friends in California sent me a Christmas surprise!  I didn't have a nativity scene and now I do and I absolutely adore it!  I will be leaving it out all year to remind me of Jesus love and the love of my heavenly Father who gave his only son to die for my sins.

Thank you guys SO MUCH!

I got to talk to Linda and Jacob on the phone and we had a great time.  J told me all about his hot wheels and we are planning to have a race track soon that will stop the cars...traffic.

Go around already!  There is a race going on!

Hi Jacob!  Hi Chris!

Thank you so much Linda, Bill and boys for my most treasured present!

Tiny Speaks to all Jland Pets and God

TO GOD FROM THE DOG...

Dear God:

Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be
a good dog (you know I have been guilty of these before):

  1. I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it or after they throw it up.

2. I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.

3. I will not munch on "leftovers" in the kitty litter box; although they are tasty, they are not food.

  4. The diaper pail is not a cookie jar.

5. The sofa is not a face towel; neither are Mom
and Dad's laps.

6. The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.

7. My head does not belong in the refrigerator.

8. I will not bite the officer's hand when he reaches in for Mom's driver's license and registration.

9. I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet.

10. Sticking my nose into someone's crotch
is not an acceptable way of saying 'hello.'

11. I do not need to suddenly stand straight up
when I'm lying under the coffee table.

12. I must shake the rainwater out of my fur
before entering the house.

  13. I will not throw up in the car.

14. I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt.

15. I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch when company is over.

16. The cat is not a squeaky toy; so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing.

And God I was wondering about some other things:

Dear God:
Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom,
if ever, smell one another?

Dear God:
When we get to heaven, can we sit on your
couch...or is it going to be the same old story?

Dear God:
Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the
cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and
the rabbit, but not ONE named for a dog? How
often do you see a cougar riding around? We
dogs love a nice ride! Would it be so hard to
rename the 'Chrysler Eagle' the 'Chrysler Beagle'?

Dear God:
If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no
human hears him, is he still a bad dog?

Dear God:
We dogs can understand human verbal
instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns,
clickers, beepers, scent ID's, electromagnetic
energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do
humans understand?

  Dear God:
More meatballs, less spaghetti, please.

Dear God:
When we get to the Pearly Gates, do we have to shake hands to get in?

Dear God:
Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are,
will I have to apologize?

He only got to come for the day.  He has grown a beard.  He asked me to cook for him.  He wanted my chicken strips. He took the leftovers home.  I can't wait to see him again on Christmas day!  I had to work most of the time he was home. Bummer......Barbara

Welcome To The World Baby Aiden!!!!

Emily had her baby!  Baby Aiden Jacob was born on December the 8th.  He only weighed 4 pounds.  He is the smallest baby I have ever held.

He has some really cute faces.  I am sure we will have many more of him soon.

Welcome to the world Baby Aiden.  We are so blessed to have you here.  Emily and David...you guys did good!

David is in Iraq and had to miss the birth of his first child.  He is coming home tomorrow.  Welcome Home David!

Fathers Eyes. Can I Have A Vote?

I dedicate this weeks song to my Daddy.  I use to sing this song for him and his patients at the state hospital when I was growing up. I love this song because it has two meanings. My earthly fathers eyes and my Heavenly Fathers eyes.

Please if you can stop by and vote for me.  Remember every point counts.

A Christmas Survey Swipped From Val

Okay but first I must say that some of these same questions were on a previous entry I wrote not that long ago.  So when I get to one of those questions I will try to tell you something new and different about it...Here goes...Play along!!!!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?  Both

2. Real tree or artificial?   I have an artificial tree that already has the lights on it.  I would really love to have a real tree, but I don't like stepping on pine needles at 2 in the morning....so I guess I will stay with what I got.  The main problem right now is where to put it.  There isn't enough room in the tiny living room and the new room isn't finished yet.  Hope fully next year!.

3. When do you put up the tree?  As soon as I can figure out where it should go.  My mom always put hers up the day after Thanksgiving so I am feeling guilty for not having mine up yet....
4. When do you take the tree down?  Usually it is still up on my birthday....I am quite a procrastinator.  But once I do get it up I hate to take it down!
5. Do you like eggnog?  Mmmmmmmmmmmm... YES!
6. Favorite gift received as a child?  I really recieved many nice presents from my MoM and Dad every Christmas. Like my bikes, typewriter, Ken doll, etc.  But one of my most favorite isn';t really what was inside the box.  It was the cute way my Gran would wrap our presents and make us little homemade snowmen and dolls to decorate the box.

7. Do you have a nativity scene?  No, but I would love to have one.  My Dad has a very special one that has been in our family for years.  Every Christmas Eve the children read the Christmas story and put the characters into the manger as we read about it.  This is so awesome to see how much better they are at reading every year.  Even when they were too small to know how to read an older child would whisper the words into the little ones ears to repeat outloud.
8. Hardest person to buy for?  I think this would have to be my Mom. because I want it to be really special, and my brothers in law.

9. Easiest person to buy for?  Brittany.  I see all kinds of thingsto get for her.  And then I buy too many and have to even it out with the other neices and nephews. LOL
10. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards?  Both!  I love either or and love sending both
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?  A kitchen faucet......I mean...is that really a gift?
12. Favorite Christmas Movie?  A Christmas Carol

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?<FONT lang='0face="Comic' color=#004000 FAMILY="SCRIPT" PTSIZE="10" Sans MS?>  ASAP but I am not done yet.....
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?  Not that was given to me.....

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?  Ham, potato salad and Jesus birthday cake
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree?  I love all lights, even the ones that God made that he gives to us everyday of the year.  His awesome stars!
17. Favorite Christmas song(s)?  "Silent Night", "Do You Hear What I Hear", "O Holy Night", "Mary Did You Know"

I agree!
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?  Who knows what will happen this year?  Is Eric coming home or are we going there?  I know he is going to come over for Christmas Eve.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?  "On Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, on Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen!"... and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and Dixie

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?  Angel
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?  One on Christmas eve and the rest Christmas morning

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?  Wasn't it Christmas just last week?  NOw that I am an adult it seems like it gets here a whole lot faster!

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?  I love snowmen and angels, but I like a variety also.
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner?  I just told you LOL...

25. Do you have Jesus in your heart this Christmas?  Yes I do!  And has been ther since I turned 9 years old.
I would love to see your answers to this!  If you want to copy and paste and do this in your journal, please leave your entry URL in my comments section so I can come take a look!  Thanks and Merry Christmas!  xox

Christmas Questions

Christmas Questions...

Your Name: Barbara

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? I actually love both of them!  I like Hot Chocolate when it is cold outside, and we have a tradition in our family where we drink Egg nog each year and toast each other to a year of happiness and health.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?  Santa does not have time to wrap all those presents.  So he just puts them under the tree.  But when you go to bed on Christmas Eve he will not bring them if you don't go to sleep.  And no peeking or looking out the window because if he sees you awake he could skip your house and then where would you be?

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?

I just like lights so it doesn't matter what color they are just lots of them.  I like looking at all the different ideas people have with decorating their yards and houses.

4 . Do you hang mistletoe?  Sure I do!

5. When do you put your decorations up?  I had hoped to have it up already, but we are still trying to decide which room it will be going into.  So I don't know.  Now ask me when I will take it down.....Around February LOL

6. What is your favorite holiday dish?  oh so many choices... but I'll say Ham...

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?  Mom and Dad waking us up and saying that Santa had come to our house.  Then they would video us walking down the hall and to the tree and catch our reactions.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I learned that you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout and if you want Santa to come you better be good....and if you aren't good Santa can come back and get that bicycle!

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?  Yes we do open one at home.  But we spend Christmas Eve with the extended familys so we open all our presents to and from each other that night.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?  lights and ornaments, we have ALOT of  old ornaments from years past. I need to get a few new ones.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?   LOVE IT...only seen it about three times in my life though

21. Did you wait in a long line to purchase a Playstation 3 today?  nope

22. Have you ever waited in line to get a high demand item?  Nope

A Letter From Jesus

Dear Children,

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival. Although, I do appreciate being remembered anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth just, GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the
Story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless?  Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families.

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary, especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name.

9. Here's a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don't know them, buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember me“

  I LOVE YOU,
  JESUS

Golly Bud you guys act like Pigs!

I am so not even kidding!

Today at work this family of two Moms, three Aunts, Two Grandmas and about 20 kids came through my line at the grocery store where I am a cashier.

Ok....Maybe there were just 10 kids...

Anywho...

That part I am used to.

What I'm not used to is what they did.....

First of all they wanted to know if hot food items from the deli could be bought with food stamps...no

Then as I was scanning their items I noticed most of them were already open.

I kid you not.

Now I know sometimes we can get hungry and eat a donut or give a hungry child a banana or a few cookies...

I actually always brought Eric a snack from home...Any who...as Amanda says.

Here isjust some of what they bought and the condition of each item...

An open bag of Fritos

An empty burrito package

Three banana skins...how the heck do you weigh that?

Some grapes with about 6 attached still to the vine.

An open container of rice from the deli...I asked her...does this have a lid so that I can scan it?

She said...it was 2.29. Just type it in I am eating it right now...this was one of the moms....

The kids were grabbing candy from the aisle and throwing it onto the belt.

And that's not all.

I said Hi how are ya'll?

They grunted.....

Animals I tell you...no worse...at least animals wait until their humans buy and pay for their food before they eat it.

Unbelievable...

and it is only the day after Thanksgiving....

What Are You Thankful For?

I told everyone to find something that started with the first letter of their name that they were thankful for and here is their choices.

We all had a great time.

Mom made a feast!

YUM!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving too!

Spud Snub

THERE ONCE was an Irish potato that fell in love with an Idaho potato. They married, put down roots and had a little sweet potato.

The sweet potato grew up and fell in love with a newscaster. She wanted to marry him, but her parents objected because they didn't want any daughter of theirs marrying a common tater.

Turkey, Turkey Everywhere

THE TURKEY shot out of the oven
    and rocketed into the air.
It knocked every plate off the table
    and partly demolished a chair.
It ricocheted into a corner
and burst with a deafening boom,
Then splattered all over the kitchen,
    completely obscuring the room.
It stuck to the walls and the windows,
    it totally coated the floor.
There was turkey attached to the ceiling
where there’d never been turkey before.
It blanketed every appliance,
It smeared every saucer and bowl.
There wasn’t a way I could stop it,
that turkey was out of control.
I scraped and scrubbed with displeasure,
and thought with chagrin as I mopped,
That I’d never again stuff a turkey
with popcorn that hadn’t been popped.

Bear with Us

A YOUNG FELLOW was bragging to his buddy about his hunting skills. Just as they arrived at their cabin, he said, “You get the fire started, and I’ll go get us something for supper.”

He walked a few minutes and met a bear. He immediately dropped everything he was carrying and ran back to the cabin as fast as he could, with the bear right at his heels.

Just as he reached the cabin, he slipped and fell. The bear was going too fast to stop and skidded right through the open cabin door.

The young fellow got up, closed the door and shouted to his buddy from the outside, “You skin that one, and I’ll go get us another.”

Needs Better Directions

DURING THE EARLY DAYS of the Model T Ford, a salesman was traveling through the mountains of eastern Kentucky. The roads were narrow and not maintained very well. The salesman soon realized he was lost, so he stopped an old mountaineer along the road and asked, “How do you get to Louisville from here?”

The mountaineer replied, “Most of the time my son-in-law takes me.”

Now Let Us Play

TOO THRIFTY? To save money, a mother of seven children frequently shopped at a bakery thrift store. She didn’t realize the impression she was making on her children until she overheard one reciting a prayer, saying, “Give us this day our day-old bread.”

GRAND FINALE. After saying bedtime prayers, little Sam asked what “Amen” meant. His mother explained it meant they were all finished. The next morning, he brushed his teeth, put down the toothbrush and said “Amen.”

BE THANKFUL. Timmy wasn’t a fan of the dinner his mother set in front of him. Before she let him begin to eat, she reminded him to say grace. “Dear God,” began Timmy, “please don’t make me eat this.”

Brand Him a Greenhorn

AN EASTERNER had always dreamed of owning a cattle ranch and finally saved enough money to buy the spread of his dreams in Wyoming.

“So what did you name the ranch?” asked a friend when he came to visit.

“We had a hard time,” admitted the novice rancher. “My wife and I couldn’t agree on a name. But we finally settled on the Double R Lazy Triple Horseshoe Bar-7 Lucky Diamond Ranch.”

“Wow!” exclaimed his impressed friend. “So where are all the cattle?”

“None survived the branding.”

And that's my story and I am sticking to it!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING YA'LL ;;;;;;;
