Let it Rayne

I got this from Rayne:

1. Are you a child of the 70s, 80s, or 90s?

I was born in 1961..child of the 70's

2. Where were you born?

Illinois

3. What kind of home did you grow up in?

I grew up in a cute little neighborhood on the south side of San Antonio.  All the neighbors were close and watched out for each others children....one reason I was always caught if I even thought about doing something wrong. It was a three bedroom house with two bathrooms.  One for the parents and one for us girls. I shared a room my whole childhood.  Mostly with my little sister Christi.

4. Did you enjoy your childhood?

Yes!!  My parents were the coolest.  They wet boundarys for us and always made the holidays special. We didn't have too much or too little, just enough.

5. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a missionary who worked in the circus and be one of those flying trapeze artists. I later as a teen wanted to be a writer or a child psychologist. I am a cashier now so I guess I have all these jobs combined in one.

6. What do you want to be now?

a child psychologist still

7. What was your first best friend's name?

Susan Martin

8. Is she still your friend?

Yes and she even lives in the same small town I do now.  I caught up with her on April 1st this year.  Her two boys wait by the phone each year for my prank.

Bellaire Elementary San Antonio

Harlandale Middle School- sixth grade only

Terrell Wells Middle School -7th and 8th grade

McCollum High School San Antonio
10. Were you closer to your mom or dad as a kid?

I loved them equally the same.  I must say at this point that my parents were both loving and kind.  I never once saw my parents fight or have words.

11. What was the first record, tape or CD you remember buying?

Cher Half Breed Donnie Osmond and David Cassidy  I also liked Barry Manilow and David Meese and Amy Grant

12. best age to be a parent

14. What was your favorite class in elementary school?

16. Broken any bones or had any freaky accidents as a kid?

only as an adult

17. Were you a mean kid?

no.  I was the kid who befriended those picked on by bullies when the bullys weren't picking on me.

18. Favorite board game of all time?

monopoly

19. Did you play house or pretend to be a super hero?

we played house, school, and army

What I Did On April Fools Day As Promised

Ok I promised to tell you my adventures on April Fools Day.  Here is who I got and what I did.  If I did not get you this year...do not be sad....I will getcha next year......

The first victim was my son Eric.  He came to visit and to show us his new car...Right at 12:0am as I was saying goodnight to him I mentioned that his cousin Emily was pregnant again with her third child. Rick and Eric both said, "What????"  so this was a double whammy.

Next at work as the gas attendant was clocking in I told her that she missed all the excitement.

I told her when I arrived this morning the police were arresting a guy by the gas pumps who was completely naked.  She said, Wow really and asked for more details.  When I finally told her April Fools she called me a little piece of poop......in other words LOL

Next my main manager the head of the whole store was by the produce section talking to the guy there and I walked by and said Hello on my way out for a break.  I ran back inside and told her there was an airplane landing in our parking lot.

I had to literally run after to tell her she had been fooled.

She thought it was so funny I had fooled her....she said, no one else was brave enough...LOL

I called my favorite guy at the Exxon where I go everyday after work for a soda and disguised my voice and acted really angry and told him that I had bought some cat food at his store and that my cat was acting very ill.  He was so funny....then he remembered after apologizing to  me that he doesn't even sell cat food. LOL

I got so many people with the easy ones of why are you  only wearing one ear ring

And did you drop that money

My Dad calls me every year and says the same thing.

"There is an elephant in your backyard"

Well this year I was so proud of him.

He called and disguised his voice and said he was the constable and that he had received a complaint about me while I was on register 13 at work.....guess what Dad....there is no register 13 LOL

I called them back and acted like I was upset and could hardly talk telling them I was in jail that I had been arrested and was in jail for the complaint on register 13.

I have not heard from them since.

Maybe I should call them. LOL

Did you get fooled?  Did you fool anyone?

This year I was actually quite tame.

Watch out next year!!!!!!

Happy Easter

Jellybean Prayer

Red is for the blood He gave
Green is for the grass He made
Yellow is for the sun so bright
Orange is for the edge of night
Black is for the sins we made
White is for the grace He gave
Purple is for the house of sorrow
Pink is for the new tomorrow

A bag of jellybeans
colorful and sweet
In this prayer is a promise
And a small delicious treat.
JELLY BEAN POEM

Little jelly beans
Tell a story true.
A tale of Father's love
Just for me and you.

GREEN is for the waving palms.
YELLOW is for the sun above.
BROWN is for the soft earth where
People sat hearing of HIS love.

A SPECKLED bean for fish and sand.
RED for precious wine and
BLACK is for the sin
He washed from you soul and mine.

PURPLE'S for the sadness of
HIS family and His friends,
WHITE is for the glory of
The Day HE rose again.

Now that you've heard the story
You know what each color means.
The story of our Father's love
Told by some jelly beans.
So every morning take a bean
They're really very yummy.
Something for the soul, you see
And something for the tummy.

Happy Easter

Homework Assignment

Color your own Easter eggs and leave me a link here.  Post the pictures in your journal.

Wanna Go For A Ride?

Ok...alot has happened.

To make a short story long....

Eric was in a car accident on March 14\

It was not his fault.  Two trucks in front of him collided and he had no where to go.

He totaled the Taurus.

He had no car again

He finally went on his own and got himself a car.

His payments will be 257.00 a month

This is his new car

Ain't she a beauty

Sometimes things happen to us in life that we don't understand.

God always provides

We just have to put our troubles into his hands

Come to find out the guy whose fault it was cancelled his insurance the day before the accident.

We are going today to fax a copy of the police report to our lawyer/

Don't know if she will take the case/

If not I guess we got screwed again

But seriously

All I care about is that Eric was not hurt seriously and we still have him in our lives.

Cars can be replaced.

Thank you God for watching out for my precious son!

Thank you God for guiding us through the storms

Thank you God for everything/
