I SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN BED...

WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS

I WOKE UP THIS MORNING WITH A FROWN UPON MY FACE

EVERYWHERE I LOOKED, NOTHING WAS IN IT'S PLACE

I LET TINY GO OUTSIDE AND QUICKLY STARTED THE COFFEE

I PUT MY MAKEUP ON MY FACE

AND PUT MY CURL IN FRONT

AND THEN I PUT MY UNIFORM ON

SHOES, SOCKS PANTS AND SHIRT

I WENT OUT SIDE TO START MY CAR

IT DECIDED NOT TO START

RICK HAD TO COME OUTSIDE

AND GET HIS SHIRT ALL WET

I FINALLY MADE IT TO WORK

AND COULDN'T EVEN CLOCK IN

THE FLOOR PEOPLE HAD IT BLOCKED OFF UNTIL A QUARTER TO SIX

THE MORNING CASHIER NEVER SHOWED UP I HAD THE PLACE TO MYSELF

I HAD TO DO THE CANDY AND TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMERS AS WELL

A CUSTOMER MAN YELLED AT ME AND HE MADE ME CRY.

I WAS SO ANGRY WITH MYSELF AND KEPT ASKING ME WHY?

WHY AM I SO SENSITIVE WHEN PEOPLE START TO YELL, I REALLY WISH I COULD JUST TELL THEM TO GO TO........

I FOUND OUT I WILL HAVE TO WAIT A MONTH FOR MY INSURANCE TO GO THROUGH.

I AM WORKING NOW WITH JUST ONE EYE AND A TOOTH THAT NEEDS TO BE PULLED.

SOMETIMES I THINK I AM FALLING APART

AND I AM NOT YET OLD

I GUESS THIS ALL BEING SAID...

I SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN BED.

GOD HAS PROMISED ME A RAINBOW, I WILL NOT BE DETERED. I WILL STAND FIRMLY UPON HIS WORD.

I LOVE YOU ALL! BARBARA

The Way We Were......not my best ever song but I would have a chance to actually win this week since a lot of people have left this sight. So if you have the time could you please go and vote for me?  I would win a microphone that has the music built into it.  That would be way cool.  Thanks! Barbara

He Lives Awesome Picture Do Not Miss!

I drew a cross on one side of this egg and it turned into this. On the other side I had written Jesus

Amazing!

I Made it

Easter BasketHappy Easter!

Well as you see I survived.  I felt your prayers all around me.  I just kept singing to myself

Open the eyes of my heart Lord.

I had this one lady who had a bill of over 200.00 and then she handed me her food stamp card.

I showed her the machine that she was suppose to use to swipe her card and put in her pin number.

She didn't know how to use it so I helped her.

Then when it came to the part about the pin number she all of a sudden spoke no English.

I had to get a translater.  She told him she had no number, could we just let her have the grocerys?

Ok so, no.  We had to void the order and return all the items to the shelves.

I kinda felt sorry for her.

Her husband went before her and bought beer.

He took out a wad of cash to pay for it.

He didn't even try to give her any money for the food, he just walked away.

But God gave me a loving attitude about it.

We were really busy, but I made it through.

I am off today and will be spending Easter with Rick and Tiny.

Hope you all have a Happy Easter! xox Barbara

Does The Fun Ever End?

Well, I did it....I screwed up AGAIN!

Last night when I was taking out my contacts to go to bed one popped out and went down the drain.  I was careful to put a towel down first, but the contact fell on the sink part and under the towel and down the drain.

Rick was fast asleep already, but I had no choice.  I had to wake him.

I was careful not to turn on the water.

Rick took apart the sink and ewww gross at all the black stuff we found there.

We searched through it all and....

NO CONTACT LENSE>>>>

Luckily I had an old pair that I can use temporily even though it fits too tight.

I called my eye doctor and she said it would be 100.00 to replace it.

Wait a minute...I have insurance now that I am full time at work.

I called and they have not put me on it yet.

I became full time last December.

Now I have to wait until MOnday to call them and set this up. I also have a back tooth broken off in the back.

So after I get the insurance straightened out I have to make an appointment with my eye doctor and get new lenses.

After they order them it takes a week for them to get back.

So I will be wearing the old lense for over a week.

Lovely....

To top it off I am working today, my job as a cashier in a grocery store until closing.

We are going to be closed Easter.

When these people find that out they go crazy!  It is already a mad house there.  I drove by.

Rick went to cash our income tax check at the bank and even though we have banked there forover 26 years, they made him come and get me and my id before they would cash it....grrr

We drove by the store on the way home and it was packed.

It is freezing cold here today and raining.

Yesterday it was busy too, I don't even want to think about how busy we will be today....

I didn't get my lunch break yesterday until it was 2 hours past due.

Wonder if I will get it today?

We had 5 people call in yesterday.

I work 2:45-11:00 or close.  People will be walking in at 10:59 expecting to take a leisure shopping trip...it happens every night.

I am still tired from yesterday.

I still have not colored any Easter eggs.

I love Rebeccas cute pictures and eggs.  Good job Rebecca!

Please say a prayer for me today.

I need all the help I can get.

Until then, one-eyed Barb says chow,

Easter Cookies That Tell The Story

Make these with your children and tell them the true meaning of Easter Easter Cookie Story
DVO Recipe Center
Serves: 4

To be made the evening before Easter.
You will need:
1c. whole pecans
1 tsp. vinegar
3 egg whites
a pinch salt
1c. sugar
zipper baggie
wooden spoon
tape
Bible

1. Preheat oven to 300

2. Place pecans in zipper baggie and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested He was beaten by the Roman soldiers. Read John 19:1-3.

3. Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 tsp. vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross he was given vinegar to drink. Read John 19:28-30.

4. Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life. Read John 10:10-11.

5. Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers, and the bitterness of our own sin. Read Luke 23:27.

6. So far the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1c. sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to know and belong to Him. Read Ps. 34:8 and John 3:16.

7. Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents the purity in God's eyes of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus. Read Isaiah. 1:18 and John 3:1-3.

8. Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper covered cookie sheet. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid. Read Matt. 27:57-60.

9. Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF. Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed. Read Matt.27:65-66.

10. GO TO BED! Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. Read John 16:20 and 22.

11. On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter Jesus' followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty.

Let the older children take turns reading the scripture.

Happy Easter! xox Barbara
