What's Going On In My World

Hello everyone!

I have some good news!  We finally got Eric's car back on the road!

Yes, you read it right.

He now has a new engine, new tires and an inspection sticker.

So now we will be saving up for the next rainfall.

He has decided to stay another year at his chef job away from home.

He signed another year on his apartment lease.

We left Sat to spend the night there and bring him back for a short visit.

Of course I was sceduled to work the whole time he would be here.

My friend Amy took my shift for Sunday

And my cool new manager gave me the day off today.

Eric wants to take me to the city park here and teach me how to skate board.

So hopefully I won't be showing you my injury pictures......

Since I have been working full time at my job, I haven't had much time to journal.  But I am trying to keep up as much as possible.

For some unknown reason I can only get to my journal through explorer now..... Maybe I need to boot or something.

Thanks to each and everyone of you who continue to listen and vote for me.

My Birthday Report

I had a great day on my birthday this year.  I spent the morning catching up on my journal reading and the afternoon cleaning.

BUT at night Rick and I went with our friends Amy and Gilbert out on the town.

We were going to go out to eat and bowling but all the restaurants were too crowded so we headed off to the bowling alley and decided we would munch there.

We bowled three games.  I never won, but I was never last.

My finger on my bowling hand is messed up , my bowling ball wouldn't even fit anymore, so I bowled with one from there.

As we were getting ready to leave they started up karaoke.....

I said " Oh I want to sing !"

Rick said, "No we are leaving"

I pouted and stomped my foot and told him it was MY BIRTHDAY!

He said, "ok one song."

I sang My Immortal by Evanescence.  The crowd seemed to like it.

I had a blast!

Ok about yesterday.

I cried at work.

This is very rare for me and I am so mad at myself for showing that.

But here is what happened.

They sent me out to do gas station even though I told them I had never been trained to use the machines and to set the gas pumps for people.

They gave me 15 minutes to learn everything and during that time there were only two cars for the training session.

As soon as I was left alone....yes by myself out there with no training.....All the pumps started filling up with people wanting to pump gas.

Every single pump was being used.

I was actually doing pretty good until I accidently set the wrong pump and since I was not shown did not know how to unset it.

I had two people screaming in my face.

They were very well dressed and I assume they were on their way to church and didn't want to be late because the stupid girl (me) didn't know what to do.

Yeah, their Christianity was really working.

I called into the store to request help and the manager sighed and said.  "What is your problem?"

I said "you just need to send help out here for me"

She was so aggrivated and told the other manager to go out and see what the problem was.

It was a small thing that would not have happened if I had been trained correctly.

I felt like such a stupid idiot.

And then the tears came out.

I hate when that happens.

I try so hard to do things right and when I don't that's it.

I promised myself that I would not cry again.

But it is too late, because it will be all over the store how I did.

Tomorrow I have to go out there again.

With no training

They don't care....... 

It doesn't help to refuse either because she will make me go out there.

Not only that but I have a certain amount of time to finish stocking the candy before they just make me put it up.

If it isn't organized on the cart the other candy girl gets hateful with me.

So yesterday I had to do the breaks for gas station which took an hour away from my candy time.

She sent me on my lunch break and said I could finish the candy after I got back.

When I went back in the cart was already put away and she said I didn't have time to finish because she needed me to check.

She had put the candy back onto the cart herself and took it to the back.

She just threw the candy on there and when I asked if I could go and straighten it out before I left she told me no, because I would be into overtime.

I asked if I could just go back real quick during my own time and fix it and she told me that I could not do it on my own time

She said she was my boss and if the other girl got mad she would just have to get over it.

Well....she is not the one that this girl will be hateful to because it isn't done to the way she wants it.

I like being home much better.

No stress, and no pressures.

Ok now that I have depressed one and all I will stop.

I really am ok I just don't know how to fix this.

I need to see my son.

His car is still in the shop.

I want to go and see him, or have him visit me.

He is without transportation.

Gotta go to bed and start all over again tomorrow.

I finished my Wolf picture and am now working on an under sea one.

I need to start writing my book again.

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

I did take the cookie bouquets and kisses to work today and everyone loved them.

The main manager at the store raved on and on about hers.  She said next year she wants to put me in with the creating of the Valentines Day treats.

It was really busy today. I sold over a million flowers and balloons.

I got Rick a Bear that says Hug Me Squeeze Me Love Me.

Tiny already stole it from him.

Rick got me a really sweet card too.

I gotta be at work at 5 am tomorrow so I guess I better say goodnight.

In two days I will be an old lady....46

So I will be living it up until then because I'm not sure how much energy I will have.

I know Rick plans to take me out to dinner and we are going bowling with some friends, her birthday is Feb 18th.

MY DAY

Today was a busy one.  Since I am a cashier I had alot of people buying Valentines Day gifts from me.

Oh the secrets I have to keep until tomorrow.

After work I decided to do a little shopping of my own.  I got a hair brain idea to make giant kisses and cookie bouquets for some of the people at work.

I spent way too much money on this project, and now I am not sure I am even giving them away.

Since I shopped after work I still had on my uniform.

I have noticed when I shop in my work shirt I get NO RESPECT.

I will be looking at an item to buy and people will walk right in front of me like I am in their way.

This one man really got my insides riled today.

He was in one of those electric carts and screamed at me to move out of his way because he was a paying customer...

um me too .

Even though I was not wearing my name tag and had my purse and shopping list in hand he didn't care that I was there to shop too.

I could go home and change my clothes first...but why should I?

And then I went to our last register to look for some of our specialty candy when I noticed a basket of what I thought were returns as we put them there.

I went to go by the basket to have a look and guess whose basket it was...

Mean guys.  He yelled at me to get the hell away from his basket.

I thought he wanted it so I apologized and pushed it over to him.

He got even madder and asked me what the hell I was doing.

I said, "Bringing you your basket"

And he called me an idiot and said he had it there so that he could drive by and put stuff in it.

Well all I can say is that I hope the people who do returns thought it was the returns basket like I did and put all his stuff back on the shelf.

Mean old fart.

I came home and made my projects and then Rick wanted Shrimp so I made Shrimp Scampi. 

I hope none of you think I am insensitive.  Believe me I go out of my way for the customers there, but when I am a customer I should be treated the same.

I have almost been hit in the parking lot because they feel like you aren't a person if you work there.

Sheesh.

I am a full-time student and mum to 5 children and have been married to my hubby Trevor for nearly 18 years.
I am training to be a Primary School Teacher.
A passion of mine is music and singing. I love to sing, and have been singing most of my life. I have been in choirs, bands, choral groups and have been in 3 stage shows - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dream coat, Pirates of Penzance and Little Shop of Horrors. All been an awesome experience.

A Valentine Quiz

 

1.  Who do you want to be your Valentine? I have two very handsome men in my life who I will have for my Valentine this year.  My wonderful husband of 25 years and going strong Rick and my awesome amazing son Eric who I have had for 23.

2.  What was a gift you remember getting on Valentines Day?

Before Rick and I were married he had red roses delivered to the bank where I worked.  Guys listen up here.  If you are going to give your girl flowers and you can have them delivered to her at work.  This is awesome and so cool!

3.  What is one gift that you gave to someone else?

One year I gave Rick a bouquet of flowers. He scoffed and said. I am a guy why did you give me flowers.  I laughed and said...so I could have some LOL

4.  How will you spend Valentines this year?

Well I know I will have to work that day, but who knows what Rick has planned (he probably doesn't even know LOL)

5.  Describe the perfect Valentines Day

Ok Rick and I would dress up and go to a fancy restaurant for dinner and then we would go to a park and sit on a picnic table or on the roof of our house and look at the stars and talk about all the wonderful things from the past and what we dreamed about in the future.  And then we would go inside and...wait I can't tell you all of that!

Hello a few pictures and prayer request

Well look who is making an entry!  Me!  And I am not going to talk about my singing this time either so read on....

It has been a while since I have written an actual entry.  That is because I was having mini drama going on.

Not to worry everyone is fine.

Drama one: Erics car situation.....

As you all know Eric was without a car.  We spent over 3000.00 to get a new engine put into a car we had.  It is a Ford Taurus and it was willed to us by Ricks Mom.  One day after work Eric noticed fluid coming out the bottom of the car.  When he checked it out he saw that he had a busted hose. He called Rick to see what he should do about it.  Rick told him to patch it up the best he could and to go to the nearest auto parts store and buy another hose and he would tell him over the phone how to fix it.

Eric took it to Firestone which was the closest and walking distance to his apartment.  They were almost closed and wouldn't be able to get to it until the next day so Eric had to leave the car there.  He told them to fix only the hose...nothing else.

The next day when he went to pick up the car there was a bill for 179.00.  They had done all kinds of pressure tests and stuff that Eric did not even ask for.  They recommended a new engine etc. etc. and Eric informed them that the engine was brand new....so in order for him to get his car back he had to pay the 179.00 bill .

This mad me so angry that they would take advantage of a young man on his own this way.  I guarentee you one thing though I will never trust that company again.

So anyway he drove it home and we took it to the mechanic that had put in the new engine.  This was three weeks ago and that guy still has the car.  Eric had to go back to work so Rick had to drive 2 hours there and 2 hours back.

Then all week long Eric had to bum a ride to work.

Eric was suppose to come this weekend but the car still isn't ready...GRRRR

Next week end is my birthday so instead he is coming home for that.  Hopefully the car will be ready by then.

Drama two:  Eric found out that his rent will be going up another hundred dollars and he is barely making it now.

Drama three:  His fish died.

Now that is three I think he deserves a little break.

You know how it is with us Mommas.  When something happens to our children it affects us even more.

So to all my prayer warriors out there.....on your knees please!

A To Z

Ok enough being a cry baby....back to the show...

A     Apple or PC? What? Actually I prefer strawberries.

B     Banking... online or in person, and if in person, drive thru or inside the bank? I am actually a little scared to do online banking, so I like to use the drive through. You can just get your business done and you don't even have to do your hair and makeup.

C     Coffee and Chocolate!  The two most important 'C's  Favorites please. Chocolate, especially white chocolate and tons of Coffee!  I like to break Hersheys candy bars into a can of mixed nuts and eat it. And I must have my coffee to funtion.  I like the flavored creamers and coffees.  Rick only likes PLAIN.

 

D     Dogs.  Do you have one?  If yes, what kind and it's name and why you named it that.  If no, then if you had one what kind would you choose? I think those who know me here know about my daughter Tiny.  She is a extremely intelligent Rat Terrier/Chihuaha.  She is so funny and keeps us laughing all the time.   

E- Elvis.  There was only one.  Favorite song, and if you ever or your parents ever, saw him live."Love Me Tender"  that song just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.  My parents recently got back from visiting his place.I don't know if they ever saw him in person...I will have to ask....

F     Flowers.  Do you have a favorite to receive and/or a favorite to give? My favorite flower is sunflowers.  But I do like getting roses from Rick....at least I did those two times I got them.  I like daisys too.  One year for Valentines Day I got Rick flowers LOL...

 G     Grandparents, do you have any left no they are all in Heaven now

and if you are one, to how many? my son is "focusing on his career as a Chef"

H     Handy or call for help? I'm handy but hubby's even handier..so why bother with the yucky stuff. LOL.

I     IOU's any out there to a person, a friend or family?  I try not to borrow money...my parents have helped us out in many binds though.

J     Jello.  Love it?  Hate it?  Favorite flavor?  With whipped cream or cool whip or neither? don't you just love Bill Cosby! there is always room for jello and cool whip too and all flavors to make a rainbow...I am keeping this answer for me too.

K     Kiss.  Do you remember your first real kiss?  Where, who? I was so scared when my first boyfriend kissed me that I ran away and wouldn't talk to him for weeks.

L     Language.  Do you speak any others?  Fluently or a little? I speak English pretty good..I have trouble with some of thebigger words like supercalifrajalisticxbeladocious. Habla por quinto Espanole. Uno, Dos, Tres, Pero Casa, enchilada and taquito es totale.  Actually I know all my numbers in Spanish and can conduct business with my Spanish speaking customers pretty well.

M     Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck? MICKEY!

N     Neighbors.  Do you know their names?  Occupations?  Phone numbers?  Or not? yes they are our new renters.  They have four little boys, He works for a fireworks company and she is a stay at home Mom.  I have their number on my speed dial.  I have to pass their house to get to mine and the boys always stop me and ask if I have a treat for them...so I have started carrying little treats.

O     Olympics.  Do you watch?  Which is your favorite winter or summer? I like the ice skating and gymnastics...ME TOO!

P     Pluto.  What is your take on the planet being downgraded?  I am still in denial over this and when did they exactly make it official...I refuse to accept this.  I love Pluto!

Q     Quiche.  Have you ever had it?  Do you like it and what is your favorite? Eric makes a mean quiche!!!

R     Refrigerator.  Name three things in your refrigerator that you think are unusual. candy bars, old orange juice, an empty cookie sheet....

S     Safari.  Have you ever been to Africa on one?  A theme park version? no but my parents have. quite the travelers. Rick won't even leavethe back yard unless it involves hunting or fishing...

T     Telescope.  Have you ever looked thru a telescope?  Yes, I saw Saturn!  SO COOL!U     Umbrella.  Do you have one and what is its design? It is light gray and with a push of one button it pops open.  Can't leave home without it in Texas.  For the rain and to block the sun.

V     Vintage.  Do you have a favorite wine to share?  Or drink? Eric always picks the wine, but I am not a drinker/

W     Willies.  What gives you the willies?  You know, that shudder you can't stop? Dirty baby noses at work and people who don't take care of their children.

X     X-ray.  Last one?  What body part and why? my wisdom tooth which broke a little while back that I am going to have to have surgically removed.... 

Y     Yolk.  How do you like your eggs? over medium with dipping toast.

Z     Zodiac.  What's your sign and does it fit your personality, in your opinion? Aquarius.  I think it does fit me pretty good from the things I have read about it.
