Eric's Visit

Eric is gone home.  I miss him already.  It is so hard for me to let him leave.  I know he has to, because he is grown now.  I just miss him so much.

Tiny is not speaking to us right now for letting him leave.

She tried to stow away in his car.

I will dwell on the fun we had while he was here.

We went shopping, out to eat, we went to see the movie Fun With Dick and Jane, spent a day in the woods, played on the computer, took lots of pictures.

It's not working...I still miss him.

He will call me as soon as he gets home and I will be better, but I just wonder how long it will be when he leaves and I don't cry for an hour.

Hug your children and spend time with them while you have them close. Build memories to fall back on.

This is the only thing that gets me through.

Happy Birthday Eric, so glad that you chose to spend your birthday with me and Dad.

Thanks for coming to visit. We miss you already.

Eric made me do this!!!! What you all wanted to see.

Pictures of me.  Eric insisted, so since I can't say no to him anymore, I let him take some pictures of me.  I got some of him too. We had a nice walk in the woods and Tiny was thrilled to go along.

I will be back later to add more pictures I took yesterday and this morning of Eric and Tiny.

He's Home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric is home!!!!! I had to show him my journal of course and he is so happy that I have such good friends here on line.

I had to tell you all something so funny.

Eric was looking at my pictures and came across the picture of his weapons table and started laughing.

I asked him what was so funny thinking he was laughing at my wit.

He pointed to the picture and said, Mom why didn't you tell me you were going to take a picture of my weapons?  I have so many more than this.

And.....he added "I would have taken my can opener off the table!"

No wonder Mark didn't know what some of those weapons were!

What are you going to do with a can opener? Take someones' lid off? LOL

We are already having a great time.

He is eating wings that I made for him for supper

I just had to put a picture in of him stealing my place at the computer.

Have a great night!  I might just stay up for these three days!

Barbara.

Of DVD players and Televisions LOL

Okay are you ready for this?

About a month ago our DVD player would not play the sound.  We are movie addicts and the people at Blockbuster have our membership number on speed dial.

I know where every single movie is in that store and often guide people to good movies while I am in there looking for something new to watch.

I was even offered a job working there because of my knowledge for movies and people skills.

Needless to say when our DVD player went bonkers it was like a death in the family.

We even opted to still renting videos and putting the subtitles on to read during the movie.  Not fun as you miss some of the good stuff while concentrating on reading what people are saying.  Plus I noticed that sometimes the words were behind on the actions.

This gave me a whole new respect for people who are deaf and this is the only way they can enjoy a movie.

After a while this became annoying and we started talking about getting the DVD player fixed or buying a new one.

Since Rick is so hard to buy Christmas presents for I held him off of going out and getting a new one so I could give him one for Christmas.

That is exactly what I did.

Last night I took the old DVD player out of the shelve under the tv to put in the new one.

I plugged a movie in and guess what no sound.

I thought maybe I plugged it in wrong and waited patiently for Rick to come in and read the directions and fix it.

The movie I put in was called Silence Becomes You (which by the way is a stupid movie and a complete waste of time)

Anyway I was thinking maybe because of the title, the first part of the movie was silent.

So we fast forwarded it and still no sound.

Then the light went off in my blonde head.                ...maybe it is the tv and not the DVD player...luckily this tv has connections in the front as well as the back.

We plugged the new DVD player into the front connections and guess what? SOUND!!!!

So now we have a tv that needs some TLC and two workingDVD players.

I thought this was hilarious! Rick did not share in my appreciation of the situation since he spent about 20 minutes plugging and unplugging things to figure out what was wrong.

Secretly I think it is because I figured  it out before he did LOL

Barbara

Just a note or two to add..

I worked today from 10-3 and it was a great day.

My son is coming for a visit tomorrow and he is staying for 3 days, so if it feels like I disappear. I haven't I am just spending every waking moment with my son. And as a birthday present to him his boss gave him off with pay for three days!

My baby will be 22 on January 5th! We are going to have so much fun!!!!!!

You know I am on cloud 9!!!!

I will try to get a lot of pictures to share of all the events.

And you know me I will be checking back and forth to see what is going on in jland, so yall behave!!!! Barbara

Patricks Six and Some Pictures too.

First Entry for 2006

Patrick's Saturday Six

For those who'd like to join in on the fun, playing is simple: you can either answer the questions in Patrick's journal or you can answer them in your own blog and leave a link. It is strongly recommended that you answer the journals in your blog and post the link.

1. From a financial standpoint, was 2005 a good year or a bad year for you? it wasn't that great, but we managed to get through it day by day thanks to the Lord

Do you expect 2006 to be better or worse?  Hopefully better, I am looking to win the lottery....

2. What was your least favorite moment of 2005?  The day that Jacob died

3. Did you lose anyone close to you in 2005? If so, who were they? My nephew Jacob Carter was killed in a motorcycle accident. We will miss him forever.  He was only 19 years old.

4. Take this quiz (if you haven't already!): What do you know about blogging?  .zNot much apparently LOL

Well, You Know What a Blog Is... You got 3/8 correct!

But, truthfully, most blogs probably bore you.

5. Where were you when 2005 began? At home  Where were you when 2005 ended?  At home watching Laurence Welk..I know ZZZ

6. Did you make new year's resolutions for 2005? NoIf so, how many did you keep?  All of them LOL

Okay your turn, Barbara

I had another long entry for today and when I went to decorate it I lost the whole story. Guess I will try it again another day. I did put some pictures for you on here.
