The Report....

Hello everyone and thank all of you for the wonderful emails today.  Thank you Linda for the snail mail card!  Thanks Mom and Dad for the card and money and phone calls.  Thanks Eric for your special phone call.  Thanks Sharon for freaking Rick out at work with the great text message and voice mail.

I tried to upload a movie I made of the years past.,,,, but never got it to work.

Now on to the story;

Rick and I met on a blind date.  Only I wasn't his date. I had a boyfriend of 2 years!  The date was for his sister Beverly and my boyfriends brother.

We decided to go bowling and Beverly asked if she could bring her brothers along.....that is how I met Rick.

It was love at first sight.  I knew he was the one. God told me.

We started dating and I happened to mention that I knew some people from his home town.

The people I knew were from the church there where me and my church youth group went to perform some music.  We were each assigned a home to stay in and I was placed in the Hollis home.

They were a cute older couple who were very much in love.

As I was sitting on their porch one day a cute guy kept driving by on his motorcycle checking me out.  I finally waved at him and he disappeared.

When I asked Rick if he knew them he said....well I guess so.

They are my grandparents!

I found out years later when we were talking about it one day that he was that guy on the motorcycle!  We didn't even meet until about 3 or 4 years later.  He didn't know who that girl was either.....

Anyway we met in October of 1980 and were engaged by December.  We got married 6 months later June 27, 1981.

Today we have been married for 25 years.

I love him with all my heart. He is the coolest, smartest, guy in the whole world and God made him especially for me!

The first picture is of him and his parents.  I loved them so much and they were a big part of our married life.  We lived right down the road from them.  His Dad Bob was quite a character.  Him and I had many debates. His Mom Melva was a good Christian and in her loving way she told everyone about Jesus.  You never were in her presence without hearing. You Can do all things through Christ .

They have both passed on to Heaven and we miss them everyday.

At our wedding we had two preachers.  My Dad and Reverend Hulsey...so I guess you could say we were double married!

My bridesmaids were of course my sisters Pam and Christi,   My best friend from elementary school Susan, My new sister in law Jenny, My best friend in jr high and highschool Patti.

Beverly, Ricks sister was my maid of honor....years later I was her maid of honor too.

On January 5th 1984 we both had a child on the same day!  My Eric and her Emily.  We call them the twin cousins.

Kellie our flowergirl is the daughter of Jenny and Larry Ricks brother.

The grooms men were Bruce Ricks friend. commited  Ralph my sister Pams husband, Gilbert our friend you see pictures of every now and then , Larry Ricks brother, Ronald and Billy also Ricks friends.

And then there is Shaun our ringbearer who decided at the last minute he didn't want to do this....we had to bribe him.

Okay now to the presents...I mean present

I decided to play a trick on Rick because he HATES fake nails.

I went and got some childrens press on nails and had them on when Rick came home today....He wanted to know how much I spent getting that done....I told him that the girl gave me a discount of 50 dollars because of it being our anniversary...when the vein started sticking out on his forehead....I let him in on the gag...they weren't real.  I also had fake but real looking pink hair. LOL

I got Rick the following gifts

Silver picture frame with our wedding picture

Another frame with picture

A silver cd player...to continue to add music to our lives

A silver clock...to tell him I would be there until the end of time

A bag of silver kisses...use your imagination..no never mind they were to keep the sweetness in our hearts

A four roll of toilet paper....

What?

Yes and as he was opening it I was singing

When the roll is called up yonder

When the roll is called up yonder

When the roll is called up yonder...

When the roll is called up yonder I'll be there.

We went out to eat at the Outback....YUM!!!

I have half a steak left for lunch!!!

I can't tell you the rest....but it is good.

Well it has been a long day...time for bed.

Love you guys!

Barbara

Sounds wonderful... like I imagined my marriage to be at one time. I was reading how you all met and it is so much like my someday X and I. So glad things are working for you both and I'm sure they'll be many, many more anniversaries.
Take Care, Chrissie
