I Could Have Died!

Remember I told you about my car sounding like it ate a swing set?  Well Rick and a friend of ours have been working on it these last couple of days.

About two years ago I took this car to a mechanic and it cost 2,000.00 to have it fixed.

Well apparently the jerk didn't put all the nuts back right and they were just laying in there.

Rick said I could have been driving and the fly wheel could have come off and either killed me or cut off both of my legs!

We are going to go and demand that it be fixed right.

Hopefully this guy will be honest about it and fix it right for no charge.

Otherwise I guess we will be looking for a lawyer.

Rick is beside himself knowing that I could have been killed.

I am so upset about this because all I want is my car to be fixed right and know that if I need to go somewhere I could get in my car and go.

This car is very special to me because it was given to me by my little sister when she passed away.

Otherwise I would consider trading it in on a new car that was more dependable.

Right now I am driving the 67 Buick which is fine for the short trips to work, but not to go anywhere over 40 miles per hour which counts out me going to visit my parents like I would like to.

Much less going to visit Eric who lives 2 hours away.

If it wasn't for the car situation I could have gone to spend time with Eric this week since I had 3 days off in a row.

I am so mad right now I could just scream!

But I won't.

I will just Thank God that I wasn't driving and that fly wheel came off and through the floor board and cut off my legs.

I know God will make this all right.

I am not giving up.

I just pray that the man who did this wrong will just fix it right and not make a big thing out of the situation.

So if you pray, please pray this for me.

I really miss not being able to go when I need  to.

Ouch!  I hope the guy or his garage is honest about this mess.  Glad you're unscathed!  Angels among us!

It is so frustrating when your car is down for any reason. But to be car-less because of someone else's stupid mistake is beyound frustrating! Glad you weren't hurt!

Yes, lets remember to thank God for not letting something so horrible happen to you. If your legs got chopped off you couldn't wear cute shoes. . . that would be awful! (hehe, just trying to make some light outta the situation.)

But, definately get that mechanic to do the job right, hell I would even take it to another mechanic just to make sure he did after he is done.

I will pray that you can go visit Eric soon enough!!

Take Care!

We had a mechanic work on my car once and something they didn't do cause the same problem again but more severe.  We didn't want the same mechanic working on it but we did get a partial refund. I don't think people give a flip about doing their jobs well anymore...if they do it all.
Glad  you are safe sis.  What would I do without you?

Girl- I feel your pain. About 3 months ago I let my brakes get REAL bad. ( I was so so so so broke) I was on my way to drop my kids off at my moms and then off to get them replaced. As I approached her house I hit the brakes to slow down and turn in and.... NOTHING!!!! They were GONE! I had a flashback of an Oprah show that talked about what to do in that situation and was able to go up the road and turn around and get into my moms driveway without killing my precious children.

PS  Don't let anyone drive it.  Have it towed in.  Send bill to the shop.

Barbara, We are like twins in some ways girlfriend.  One time someone was fixing my car for a battery and told me that the whole block to the engine was so loose it could have come through the dash and killed me too.  I am so glad Lord put angels to keep your legs on in place.  I hope that the guy fixes it right this time but do have Rick stand over him and make him nervous, nervous, nervous.

That is definitely a bad situation.    I had a mechanic turn a screw because the motor was racing.   The screw he turned was not the problem and the problem got worse and I had to hold my foot on the brake while the engine raced at a stop.   I went on a trip to my families up north so I was far away from home.   Finally a new thermostat electrical part that was expensive was installed and it has worked fine since.   I will never go back to that shop.    mark
