Not A Good Day

Today I had to do something I hope I NEVER have to do again for the rest of my life.

I had to go to the funeral of one of my close friends that commited suicide.

He left a wife and four children.

I was so distraught that I could not breathe.

After the burial ceremony I went off on my own and could not stop crying.

I looked up and saw the most beautiful orange tree surrounded by hundreds of blue butterflys.

Two of the butterflys were flying together nearby.  They flew over to where I was standing and flitted about around my head.

It felt like a sign from Christi saying she was taking Sam with her to Heaven and everything would be alright.

Suicide is not the answer.  Living is.

There are so many sick people with diseases that hit them in the prime of their lives and they have to leave behind their children and spouses.  They would LOVE to have their lives back.

Do not take your life for granted and do not take your own life.

Sam was only 44 years old.

Pray for his family.

Barbara

My deepest condolances.  I've had close friends die and I have had close friends try suicide unsuccessfully.  It is NOT an experience anyone should go through.  Take care of yourself.  ~ Mike

I will Pray and I wish I could hug you when you were crying. It's awful. My best friend did that 15  years ago in May.

my pastor's wife said suicide is not an unforgiveable sin (being if you were saved before you commited suicide you didn't lose your salvation by committing suicide) but she did say what it did to those you left behind. Such a terrible thing to have to live with as the survivors; the guilt, the wondering, etc.

This is so sad. It is so true there are so many people with problems and they can't find the peace that they need. I know firsthand how this feels. I am sorry for your loss. I will pray for the family.

Very sad to read this Barbara. Suicide isn't an answer, it's the result of mental illness. He must have been through a private hell to do this. Feel for his family and friends, it's a terrible situation to come to terms with. Thinking of you.
