Let's Talk Weddings

K Let's Talk Weddings:

If you are already married you can answer how your wedding was.  If you aren't married yet you can answer what your dream wedding will be like.  Also those of you who are married get an extra question....would you do it all over again? and if so would you change anything?

I would do it all over again and I wouldn't change a thing except for maybe the best man who was a stand in for the original best man whose boss would not let him have off of work....

Okay on to the questions......

1. How many people were in your wedding counting bride, groom, bridesmaid, groomsmen, maid of honor, best man, flower girls, ring bearers, ushers, musicians, preachers and singers?

1 bride, 1 groom, 6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, 1 maid of honor, 1 best man, 1 flowergirl, 1 ringbearer, 4 ushers, 7 musicians, 2 preachers and 4 singers.  So that makes 35 people if I added right lol

2. What were your colors?

Baby blue and pink...this I would consider changing...it was cute but I think I would like a more elegant wedding for our 25th.   Hah like I would be able to get Rick to go through another one of these....

3.Did any thing funny happen in the middle or during the wedding?

My ring bearer decided that he did not want to do his job.  We had to bribe him.  My flowergirl went under my veil and asked me how long I was gonna stay under the covers.

4. Flowers or Candles?

We had both. All kinds of fresh flowers and white candles.

5.  Where is the honeymoon?  Have you ever been back there?

Our honeymoon was at the Seahorse Lodge in Port Aransas.  We spent all day on the first day out in the sun and waves and got very bad sunburns....so for the rest of our trip we were like " I love you, but please do not touch me unless you are going to put some noxema on my burns!!!"

And yes we go back there every year for our anniversary.  It cost alot more now though....ouch.  And we did learn not to get burned. Although when we do go it is hard to keep Rick from fishing the whole time...

6. Church or Outdoors?

My Dad is a preacher, so where do you think I got married...church.

7. What songs were sung?

You Needed Me,   If,    The Lord's Prayer   , We've Only JUst Begun

8.  Just cake and punch or buffet?

We had a huge cake and also a german chocolate grooms cake and punch.  I don't think I would like a buffet style because then you feel like you have to entertain and it is your wedding.. just my opinion

9.  HOw many children did you have or do you want?

We had one son...I always wanted a daughter too but God gave me his most perfect child so I quit while I was ahead.  So if any of you want to borrow my little girl name it is Anastasia Lyndsey.  I named a cat after her, but she only had 3 lives and is in kitty heaven.  not sure what happened to her...she just disappeared when we got the dog.

10.  How many years have you been married and if not married do you believe marriage should be forever?

Rick and I have been married for 24 years,4 months,  13 days and 2 hours and 6 minutes.

Okay girls let's talk weddings.... what you got?

wow 24 years. Congrats!

Lol, I like your funny stories..how long you gonna stay under the covers...cute!!

My answers are so simple.  I was 5 mo. pregnant with Carson when we married.  We just went to the mayor of the next town over.  It was in October, fall colors I guess you would say...and we both wore blue.  No one was invited.  The only people that were there were my stepfather my sisters, my brother and Anthony.  Carson was in my belly, so I guess he was "there" lol.  I wouldn't change it though.  It was our special moment.  It was our vows.  I cried and cried...lol. (hormones on top of the happiness)

We want to renew our vows on our 10 year anniversary.  Hopefully then I will get to have a BEAUTIFUL wedding and wear a gown and all the fun stuff! :)

Fun entry! Thanks for sharing...your wedding sounded beautiful!

love,
Holly

Good subject, Barbara.

Yes, I would do it all again; loved my wedding; kept it relatively simple.

1.  1 bride; 1 groom; 2 bridesmaids, 2 groomsmen, 1 maid of honor, 1 best man; no flower girls or ring bearers; ushers were the groomsmen, 3 musicians and singers; one preacher.

2.  Orange and brown - fall wedding

3.  Nothing funny happened; everything pretty much went according to plan.

4. Flowers

5.  Queen Mary in Long Beach, California and yes we went back there for our 1st anniversary.

6.  Church

7.  Sunrise Sunset when the mothers were walked down; I don't remember what other songs at the wedding; but We've Only Just Begun at the reception for our song to dance to

8. Buffet

9.  Wanted four; ended up adopting two

10. 25 years this past 10/11/05 - marriage is forever

Loved reading your answers, Barbara; you weren't too far behind me in getting married :)

Oh fun entry!! I am not yet married... but let it be said that in 26 days Mike and I will have been together for 3 years.... and I am "expecting" some sort of stock in this relationship soon. I have "edited" your questions to fit me. :) I hope you dont mind.

1. How many people (will be) in your wedding? Me, Mike.. his brother as the best main, my cousin as my maid of honor, his sister as a bridesmaid, Mike's best friend Eric as a groomsman... and I will have to rent some kids for a flowergirl and ring bearer.

2. What were your colors? I would love to have a purple and silver theme.

3. Flowers or Candles? I would go with daisies and some candles.

5.  Where will you have the honeymoon? I would love to go to Italy with Mike, but I dont thinkk I would want to do that on our honey moon, maybe an anniversary. For the honeymoon I would love to go to the mountains, get a cabin... mmm yeah.

6. Church or Outdoors? I am not sure. I do not want an outdoor wedding and I am not really part of the church all though he is... we will have to see on that one.

7. What songs is your song?
K.C. &  Jo Jo - "All My Life"

8.  Just cake and punch or buffet? Oh my family likes to eat... BUFFET with cake and punch.

9. How many children do you want? Mike has told me he wants 6, so that he can have 5 on a basketball team and a spare around in case of injuries. I on the other hand would be content with just 3.

10. How many years have you been married and if not married do you believe marriage should be forever? I do believe that marriage is a forever commitment

Thanks for stopping by my journal.  I love yours.  Very nice entries.

Lets see...wedding.

I don't think I would do it all over again.  It wasn't much, but I loved it just the same.

1.  We had a simple wedding at the courthouse.  The judge my dad works for (he's a court reporter) married us for free.  Attending it was my mother, father, brother, grooms mother, father and sister and my grandmother.  My son was 5 months old and he was there too.

2.  No colors.  I bought a multi-colored flowered dress and my husband wore a light blue button shirt and slacks.

3.  Nothing happened during it.

4.  The only flowers I had were my bouquet that my mom made me out of flowers from her garden.

5.  No honeymoon as of yet.  Hopefully we will get one someday.  My MIL watched our son while we went out to eat, but that's it.

6.  Neither church or outdoors.  Courthouse.

7.  No music, either.

8.  We didn't do anything after the wedding, but dinner.  The Sunday after the wedding friends and family gathered at my IL's house for a potluck.  There were 2 sheet cakes.

9.  We have one boy, who will be 3 on December 12th.  I am hoping for a girl in a couple of years.

10.  Sky and I have been married 2 years, 5 months, 11 days, 23 hours and 35 mintues.

I think that's it.  Take care.
